Have you seen this process written in caps lock in your task manager? You may have seen it accompanied with another similar process under the name wlidsvcm.exe. This process does not come with the computer when you purchase it. Not many people have this wlidsvc.exe process running in their system, simply because of the type of service it runs. The process is developed through Microsoft, but it is put on your computer after an installation is made on your PC. The wlidsvc.exe process is in charge of making sure that the Windows Live Sign-In Assistant works as it should.
What Does the Windows Live Sign-In Assistant Do?

Microsoft’s Windows Live Sign-In Assistant is notable for its duty in keeping you signed into MSN Live Messenger. Without the wlidsvc.exe process, none of this would be possible. Now, there are two processes which actually help run the entire system. The wlidsvc.exe process is the single most important component of the application, as it is in charge of the service. The secondary process is wlidsvcm.exe, and it is there to monitor the primary service process. The sign-in assistant makes it possible for you to manage multiple accounts with one single application. If you are using Windows Live Messenger, you would have noticed that when you sign-out, many of your other login credentials still appear. This is made available through the live sign-in assistant.
What is Error code: 800706ba?
If you disable the wlidsvc.exe process and try to use Windows Live Messenger, you will get this error. The wlidsvc.exe process is in charge of connecting to the live service, which makes it possible for you to sign-in to your instant messaging system. Along with the error code 800706ba, you will be notified that the service is temporarily unavailable. Even if you are not running live messenger, you may still come across such an error. There are several Windows Live assisted applications such as photo gallery and movie maker, writer, sync, Bing bar, messenger companion and family safety. When any of these programs are installed on your computer, the wlidsvc.exe process automatically initiates onto your system.
How to Disable the wlidsvc.exe Process
Go to the start menu and in the search bar, type in services.msc and press enter. This will open up the Services dialog box, which houses the various other services being run on your system. On the list of items look for “Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistance”, and once you find it, simply click on it and select disable. This should completely stop the process from running in your task manager.
